Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize, but he has yet to win over all of the scientific community. Dr. William Gray, called Gore’s view of anthropomorphic climate change “ridiculous” and the product of “people who don’t understand how the atmosphere works.” Dr. Gray continued, “We’re brainwashing our children, they’re going to the Gore movie [An Inconvenient Truth] and being fed all this. It’s ridiculous.” The British High Court agrees with Dr. Gray’s view of the film.
Contrary to Al Gore’s view, as expressed in the film An Inconvenient Truth, Dr. Gray is of the opinion that “the human impact on the atmosphere is simply too small to have a major effect on global temperatures.” Furthermore, Dr. Gray is of the opinion that “we’ll look back on all of this in 10 or 15 years and realize how foolish it was.”
Dr. Gray also criticized fellow scientist for failing to take a more skeptical look at the science behind the theory of anthropomorphic climate change. “It bothers me that my fellow scientists are not speaking out against something they know is wrong,” he said. “But they also know that they’d never get any grants if they spoke out. I don’t care about grants.”
Dr. Gray is Emeritus Professor of Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University and Head of the Tropical Meteorology Project, which forecasts Atlantic hurricane season activity.
Dr. Gray’s paper Global Warming and Hurricanes posits that variations in deep-ocean circulation has an impact on global temperature, far more significant than an increase greenhouse gases. Some of the more pertinent excerpts from the paper
In the author’s view, most of the last 30-year and last century-and-a-half global warming that has occurred can be attributed to these types of ocean induced circulation changes brought about by a general long-period slow-down of the global THC. Global Circulation Models (GCMs) which do not account or accurately model these global-scale ocean circulation features are quite inadequate for understanding the observed last century-and-a-half and last 30-year global temperature increases that have occurred.
This is the current situation in which GCMs have grossly exaggerated the influence of anthropogenic greenhouse gas increases as the primary cause of such warming.
Global warming cannot and should not be directly tied to increases of anthropogenic greenhouse gases as GCM models have implied.
The global temperature increase that has been observed over the last century-and-a-half and particularly over the last 30 years is thought to be a consequence of natural changes associated with the slow-down of the ocean’s deep water THC circulation and the resulting changes in ocean and atmospheric conditions that respond to this change in ΔTHC.
Anthropogenic changes and there potential feedback influences over the last 30 years and the last century-and-a-half could not have been of significant magnitude or timing as to have played a significant role in causing the global changes which have occurred.
I anticipate global temperature conditions will change as they have in the past. I expect to live to see the start of a global cooling pattern and the discrediting of most of the anthropogenic warming arguments. The world has more serious problems to worry about.
As is the norm, we can expect an attack on Dr. Gray’s motives. He will be called a shill for big oil, then will be the claims that he is a denier.

If effective brain washing is worth a Nobel Prize, what about pushing the envelope in the realm of interrogation?

Whatever is causing it (and I happen to be one of those who thinks humans are definitely helping to speed the process along) there is no denying that climate change is happening. When large chunks of ice are melting at an ever increasing rate, that means that something is going on.
