After firing the leadership of the Air Force, SecDef Gates has now directed that more Predators and Reapers to be deployed to CentCom. According to Aviation Week,
Defense Secretary Robert Gates is directing the service to field six more Predator combat air patrols (CAPs), as well as more Reapers to support operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The insufficient number of drone aircraft in Iraq was noted by Secretary Gates when he ordered more UAV, or UCAV, to be deployed in support of the war.
The order by Dr. Gates should be heeded, least others lose their jobs.
