Jeff Demps from South Lake H.S. (FL) recently ran a 10.01 in the 100 meters. Demps broke the high-school record, with 
was 10.08. Demps is a member of the 2008 recruiting class – raked as the #4 athlete by Scouts, Inc. – and has signed with Florida. Demps is a very versatile and the Gators may use him at running back, wide receiver, or cornerback.

So he can run, can he play football? I do believe that is the question that matters most.
dell kimberly – You are right. Jerry Rice never ran faster than 4.7. But, with the ball he was very hard to catch.
You can teach football, speed is everything.
Jeff Demps is fast, but it was reported that a former Dreadnaght, Chris Rainey, beat him in a forty yard dash behind a UF dorm room this summer after the Olympic trials.
just beacuse chris rainey beat demps in the 40 yard doesnt prove nothing chris rainey just has good accecleration and start…trindon holiday ran a 4.28 in hes basketball shoes doesnt mean hes the fastest ever gaurntee chris rainey cant run 10:50 in 100m
jeff demps is definitely very very fast and he is just a freshman in collage and will just keep geting faster as the year progress chris rainey is all so fast but just i dont think as fast as jeff. but they both need to keep up the good work and do it.
I went to school with jeff demps and we are friends so im just gonna put it out there. he is number 1 and he is gonna kick ass so all those other colleges better watch out cuz they wont even see him comin! bam! he is the best =]
Demps can fly and play football like a stud but in pads i think rainey is faster in pads is what matters

i played football against demps in high school and all i have to say is that he is fast as hell and you never really really realize how fast until you are trying to catch his ass lol but i did tackle him a few times so i can say i tackled someone kinda famous haha
yo Demps is the best he is very fast and has the skill to become the best around i went to high school with jeff demps th south lake high school and we are preety good friends and i went and saw all of his games and believe he will make noise in college football from his first year to his last year and hopefully he moves forward with it and does into the NFL.
I think demps is a fast runner and a great athlete, i knew him and i know how good he is. alot of us do but people have their own opinions i personally think jeff is better than chris rainey but watever.
chris raineys not faster jeff is the fastest in college fastest in football and he can play ive seen him play and he also has power bet u dodnt know that ive seen him run over a guy at south lake

Thanks for the comment. It is always great to hear from someone who has the inside scoop. Demps is very fast and from the looks of things last season he is also a very good football player. Florida is going to be great in 2009.

Jeff Demps and Chris rainey are both fast. Chris rainey ran a 10.4 I believe and Demps a 10.01. Demps ran a 4.46 40 and rainey a 4.42
This doesn’t mean that Demps is faster , just that he can maintain his speed over a longer period of time. Nor does it mean that rainey is faster, he can just reach top speed quicker than Demps. To see who is the actual “faster person,” you’d need a speed gun (or something along these lines).
Trindon Holliday is faster than Demps. He won the 2009 NCAA Championship in the 100m with a time of 10.00.
