Yes, the title of this post is real. PETA is attempting to protest the McDonald’s aboard the Navy base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The claim: McDonald’s is “hot-waterboarding” chickens. Yes, chickens.
PETA–along with members of McDonald’s own animal welfare advisory panel–has urged the company to require its suppliers to upgrade their slaughter methods to eliminate the worst abuses that birds suffer by switching to a modern method that the company already uses in Europe, but
the group’s pleas have been to no avail.
“It is not a stretch to say that the way McDonald’s birds are raised and slaughtered is torture,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “These birds are basically hot-waterboarded when they are drowned in a vat of scalding, blood- and feces-contaminated water: The difference is that they never survive.”
What information does PETA think these chickens have that the servicemembers at GTMO are trying to extract from them? Are there chickens that are members of Al Qaeda?

Thanks, you’ve done what my wife could never do — got me to stop eating anything with chicken at MCDonald’s.
Cheers.
Everyone knows chickens work for Osama. Come on.
Looking back, I have this to regret, that too often when I loved, I did not say so.
