The Trojans had a number of injured players return to the lineup for the game in South Bend, including Brian Cushing and Rey Maualuga. One injured player that did not return was John David Booty, so Mark Sanchez got his second straight start and quarterback. Stanley Havili had a solid game, and Joe McKnight had a big run in the second half.
When asked about his team’s play and if they had hit the bottom, Charlie Weis said,
“I’m going to answer that very cautiously, because I don’t want to be called sarcastic using New Jersey rhetoric. So let me just say people better enjoy it now, have their fun now.”
This man is a true myopian, and completely lacks humility or class. What is New Jersey rhetoric? These are his players and his coaching system, and they lose 38-0 in South Bend. Earlier in the week, Matt Carufel became the fourth sophomore to transfer from Notre Dame this season. The only time you had success was when you were playing with players you did not recruit. Brady Quinn is gone. Now what Weis? Where is that offensive genius we were all warned about? Or did it help to have the defensive calls when calling your plays?
Despite the abysmal season Weis his having and his refusal to admit this is a rebuilding year, he continues to try to act like a tough guy from New Jersey. Give it up Charlie. You have the self discipline of Britney Spears – just try to remember the last time you saw your feet – and you act as though you are the winningest coach of all time. You won with Tom Brady. Again, Tom Brady, one of the best we may ever see. Elmo could be a winning coach with Tom Brady as his QB. Take some lessons in humility, close your mouth – both talking and eating- and try some mixed greens. Set an example instead of issuing empty threats.
The fans of Notre Dame deserve better. On a side note, yojoe attended the game in South Bend, and the fans, students, and people of South Bend again proved themselves to be some of the best fans and people one could ever meet. They were gracious, polite, and are a credit to the game of college football.
yojoe Fight On!

nothing quite like nd in fall.
i miss going to games.
Dame W – It was a beautiful day and the campus as ND is outstanding. Also, the students and fans could not have been more hospitable, as is the norm. That being said, Charlie Weis still sucks.
